Wont Start

Hi i’m having a few problems with my cooper - it wont start!!

We thought it may have been flat battery because it was sat there for a few weeks because of the snow, but battery is fully charged, plenty of petrol but no joy!! Spark plugs have all been removed and cleaned, checked the dizzy cap for any moisture and it was fine, but still no spark!!! As i said there is plenty of petrol, but the petrol gauge shows well below empty???!!!

Any ideas on what it could be?? my bank balance is showing well below empty - same as the petrol gauge!!!- after lots of driving lessons and a bit too much spending at Bingley Hall so I’d love to be able to sort it without getting a garage out to it!!!

I dont really know anything about engines but i’ve had a friend over who has been checking it and he cant get his head around why it wont start?? We even tried a can of Sure Start incase it was just damp but still nothing!!

Any help would be great!!!

Have you tried resetting the fuel pump cut off switch? Mine has a habit of cutting itself out if I leave the car for a couple of weeks.

If you are not sure where it is, open your bonnet and look in the top right hand corner, by the wiper motor, you are looking for a round rubber circle, about the size of a £2 coin, press the centre down then try again.

I hope that this helps you.
