1976 Mini 1000 Saloon

Put simply, my wiper motor has stopped responding to any external stimulus.

I have taken it out of the car, and connected it directly to a fully charged battery and it does nothing except the faintest of clicks (even this might just be the spark of the contacts being made).

Does anyone have any suggestions where I can start to troubleshoot this little problem without resorting to buying a whole new replacement unit.

Brushes look okay in that they are there! My knowledge of such things is limited.
I have cleaned the copper spindle type thing where they make contact.

Odd, I have one that does the same thing. The clicks are something internal, but what I do not know.

I wouldn’t mind getting this one going as well so if you ever sorted it out I would love to know.
