I’m converting mine to 10’s so I’ll be getting the conversion kit for Christmas. Its got to be 10’s for me all the way.

I’m going 10x6 under sportspack. I would go 10x7 but can’t afford the alloys I want.

i just used 3/4" spacers on the front, the solid type with the longer studs, not the ones with the screw on stud extenders, and they dont put any more stress on the bearings than having 12" wheels fitted! sorted!
Using spacers WILL put more stress on your wheel bearings, that offset is excessive (10x6 wellers already have a silly offset, add 3/4" of an inch of spacer and it becomes ridiculous). Having said that, wheel bearings are fairly cheap to replace if you’re bothered, and there’s no reason why with those wheels they shouldn’t last 10,000 miles.
I’ve tried that setup (for a grand total of 5 miles after which I thought it was undriveable), and it simply doesn’t work very well. The steering goes incredibly heavy due to the distance you’re scrubbing the rubber every time you turn the steering wheel, plus go over a bump in the middle of a corner and it’ll send a nice knockback through to the steering wheel!
tobestarrr can you post a picture of your mini? can see what wheels suit it then though 10x6 looks excellent on everything! what style of wheel are you going for?
also interested to see if i remember your mini from my days around sevenoaks. i used to drive around the baby blue mini in my sig, was in sevenoaks quite a lot at weekends. havent been for just over a year though following the accident
10s are nice, but I like my 13x7s. I dont think any of the cars with 10s look as tuff as a tubbed and low car with 13s

here you are dude:

i am soon getting it resprayed either re done black or mg ignition blue… i do quite like 13" but i dont like the idea of cutting my wings too much/ apparently the handling becomes strange if not set up properly?
edit: oli i like ultralite and stuff like that… ones that are alittle deep dish/set back thanks!
with the look youve got at the moment i think you could pull off either 10" or 13", so your choice.
you’re right, you should really upgrade a few suspension components for adjustable ones and get it set up properly for 13" wheels. not sure on the exact details of what you should replace but i’m sure someone could tell you.
I had 13" wheels on my mini but dont have experience of driving a similar set up with 10’s or 12’s so cant really say on handling. however i can say 13’s tend to have handling defects, mine stuck like glue going round corners but it did have a mind of its own at times and 13’s like to munch through wheel bearings faster than others. when i rebuild mine i’ll get 12x6 instead of 13x7. the very low profile tyre also doesnt really help handling, expect it to follow a lot of ruts and bumbs in the road and you’ll get quite a harsh ride and feel a lot of bumps. i’ve got my 13’s on my Viva now and when i switched to those i could definitely feel a lot more of the road through the wheel! and thats wish super comfy squashy suspension.
I also think that 13x7 is just on the limit of looking too big on a mini. i can never quite make up my mind anymore, but thats just personal opinion. another reason why im going to 12’s though. go through the picture thread and see if you can come to more of a decision.
so up to you but personally id go for 10x5/6 or if you want bigger or not to get the disc conversion, 12x6.

yeah thanks for the reply!, i do like 13x7 but im not very good with suspension bits and that so i woul dnot know where to start… if i get tens all the roads around here have speed bumps and stuff so i dont know :L i hate decisions sometimes!
