Do these actually do anything useful or are they a really expensive bit of steel tube?
hmm They seem like a good idea for stiffening up the shell. But in a race/track day car, thats what the roll cage would do.
I suppose they’d give the shell abit more structural strength in a crash - Could maybe stop the cill/doorstep are crumpling.

Defo not worth that sort of money, and personally i dont think they are needed + you would see more race minis with them installed…
to be honest you could make something very similar very cheaply.
That’s kind of what I thought, it looks like you could make them for less than £20 and looking at how they fit I don’t see that they would really stiffen up the shell much at all. Welding a couple of bits of box section in would do much more for a fraction of the price.
Just found them when looking round on ebay and never seen them before
