What Size Spanner For Front Brake Hoses (goodridge)

I’m just trying to get the brake hose off the front drivers side brake caliper and it’s being a right pain. I’ve got a 1/2 inch on there but its still doesn’t want to turn just shears, so I stopped.

Any help would be great!

I think goodridge hoses have metric AF’s

i think i used a 13mm or 14mm spanner.

failing that break out the mole grips!!

If you plan on servicing the car during your ownership… don’t use mole grips. Buy flare nut wrenches instead. They are a much better tool specifically designed for hydraulic hose and fitting work.

Fair point DKL - but he has already stated he has started to chew up the banjo / bolt. May be unlikely to get a spanner on them now.

Yeah its pretty much sheared now. I just wanted to see if the calipers a friend gave me has cured a brake problem. I’ll have to buy some new hoses at Brooklands I suppse :S

Im selling standard calipers and hoses at the moment - rebuilt with new seals and s/s pistons so deffo no issues with sticking

I’m mates with Monkey (I think he may have been in contact with you about them) and yes I live in Hounslow so it’s a bit of a mission so to speak! I’m going to have a look again at my brakes on Saturday as it still seems to be pulling to the left whilst braking. I actually bought new seals and pistons for one side (pretty expensive!). How much are you selling them for? Prob best to PM me.
