My mini has been running great until the wet weather started went out one day and it was turning over but wouldnt fire up. I checked all wires etc and removed distributor cap dried it out and sprayed the cap with WD40 put it back on and it was fine. It didnt rain for a couple of days and was fine throughout the dry spell.
I tried to start it up this morning after a rain fall last night and same issue turning over but not starting!, anybody got any ideas which could help deter this issue?
Cut the fingers off half way down, then feed the ht leads in one by one and then put the glove over the cap. Use cable ties to hold the finger holes tight around the leads If that makes sense?!

try removing all leads from the cap and coat them with silicone
i assume you have the cap cover
also a shield behind the grille
Keep the ignition clean with good insulation on all the connections. An ignition shield helps, but avoid wrapping bits up to keep the damp out as it proves just as effective at keeping condensation in. Convert to electronic ignition.
I made a flexible shield from some plastic (the stuff they make curtains in spray booths from) which just hung down infront of the dissy and wrapped underneath it and I only had a problem with wet once in nearly 2 years after I went through a particularly big puddle!
> Great thanks guys, I’ll have a go and let you know how I get on, just wasnt sure if that would create condensation? but I’ll give it a go

Ive never had any problems with it causing condenation. I just always make sure its all bone dry inside before putting one on.
take your dizzy off and smear a bit of grease on the dizzy cap lip (where it seals against the dizzy body). i fomd thos and a splash shield works really well
