hi iv got the chance to get hold of some twin 40 webbers but dont want to go down the 8 port route so it would be a case of spliting them im just asking is this a good idea??

depends what you mean by twin webers - as each one has 2 chambers. and you can’t split them!
I run a single (twin chamber) weber 40, but many will be on here telling you not to bother as an SU is perfectly capable.
So check if it is one carb or 2 mate
