bump

It says 850/998/1098 in the title as well as “small bore” engines.

So yes that’ll fit your car.

Why do you think you need a ‘copper’ head gasket ??

> Why do you think you need a ‘copper’ head gasket ??

Because it’s a high compression 1100 from an mg!!!

And gaskets? Sorry to be apain

The MG engine isn’t ‘high compression’ - any head gasket will be fine - just fit it correctly and be sure to torque it down again after the first heat cycle.

Well I’m going to be refitting like for like as it had a copper one In there before i will be fitting a copper and it is a high compression engine!!

If you’re looking at the Engine code and have 10H at the start… then it’s worth mentioning that the H doesn’t stand for ‘High compression’ - It denotes how the gearbox is mounted. Transverse or Longitudinal.

If you already knew that then i apoligise in advance… it’s a mistake a lot of people make, but I’m not assuming you’re doing the same

Good luck with the rebuild, I look forward to seeing it on here! 1098’s are glorious engines. very driveable!

It doesnt have an engine number, I no that it’s high compression because it has flat top pistons with a 12g295(I think)
