I have undone the 3 nuts I can see holding it in, but its still REALLY stuck in the car. Am I missing something?
I just took mine out and nearly resorted to using my feet! The threads are quite long so it takes some doing to get it up and out. Far easier with the windscreen out, but it is possible. I had to bash the metal back into place afterwards :S
Do you want the same one to go back in?
Took mine out a while ago, but i took the speedo surround off, air vents etc, basically anything to create more leverage points. Then got really angry and pulled, bent, and generally destroyed it. But it came off.
I dont think theres an easy way without some bending involved.
Right, thanks for that. Angle grinder it is then!
I got so mad it nearly got that bad. But if your going for a retro look just bend and tin snip it because its gonna get damaged no matter what.
I, errr, may, umm, have laready attacked it with the tin snips!
I was getting angry, so thought I’d come and ask here before I did any damage to the rest of the car!
I am stripping all the weight out, and they weigh a bloody tonne those padded bits!
Passenger seat weighs more than all the other padded bits put together
Got buckets in mine now, lightweight Cobras! The car has to be useable. What happens if I am in town and some lovely young lady asks for a ride home with her shopping? What can I say? You can ride in the back on the floor?
Or, on my lap? Is that legal?
I took the passenger seat out of mine to fit my dog in (not suggesting your into dogs), He sits on the back seat with his front legs in the footwell and looks like a proper passenger (he is bl@@dy big).
Not sure why i posted that as it doesnt save any weight, but looks really funny.
You can lift it out without damaging it. Front edge first, it’s tight and you have to force it but you don’t need to break it.
It came out, eventually. It was in, errr, a few pieces :fear:
No damage done to the rest of the car tho ![]()
It must weight over a kilo!!
