I’ve pulled out my engine (1275 SPi) and im starting to rebuild it with upgraded parts, one of them being lightened duplex timing gears and chain, i was wondering if anyone knew about the tensioner pad? on minispares it says you should change them every time you have the timing cover off but there only for single timing chains, does anyone know if there is a duplex one? or if you need it once you convert to a duplex timing setup? or if the original single timing tensioner pad will fit anyway?
Dont need to run one with a duplex. Remember to modify the timing cover and also to countersink the 2 bottom back plate screws, otherwise they will catch the crank sprocket.

sweet, nice one buddy. should i put the bolts in that held the tensioner pad in or leave them out? and what parts of the cover do i have to modify? what are the 2 bottom back plate screws?
The 2 screws which screw the backplate to the main bearing cap at the bottom, you need countersunk screws and you need to countersink the plate aswell, cover, needs the metal flange inside the cover to be ground flat.
