Strange Lights

Hey, small problem with my lights at the moment. They have been working fine, but i got my car stuck on some mud from which it had to be pushed off and since i have got no full beam. When switched on with dipped lights they work fine, but when i click for full beam everything but the sidelights turn off?
The full beam does work because if i pull the stalk and hold it (without it clicking) all my lights come on. I was wondering if it was the earthing point and if anyone could direct me to it?
Cheers
Adam

no one?? really need some help please

Sorry, not insulting you inetlligence here but…

…thats how they are supposed to work, when you have all of you lights on and switch to main beam the dipped beam turn off, but if you only hold it on so it doesn’t click then high beam and dipped beam willbe on together, hope this helps

I think he means that high beam does not work when not on flash setting. I may be wrong, but I don’t think its an earth problem if the dip beam works. Firstly, check high beam elements.

Yeah sorry didnt explain very well, the flashy bit works, but when you click your lights to stay on full beam my dipped beam goes off as they should but the full beam doesnt stay on so i end up with no lights which isnt brilliant If the flash works wouldnt that mean the elements are okay??

I would imagine that it is a complete and utter total cor blimey (not to labour the point) coincidence that there was the mud then the lights don’t work.

As described I would suspect the indicator switch mechanism. Can’t remember if you can get inside it to clean the contacts?

Sorry, by elements I meant all the elements (parts of) the high beam. Do you have a multimeter?
