adoo! i know that on my mini there where 2 speakers in on the parshal shelf, i got rid of them and ive got some other speakers under the rear seats the just need wiring in, but where is the wireing rooted? its weird it just turns up in the boot!?! and i dont see any point in rooting it from the boot to the speakers, should i get the radio out and just un plug them? im going to get some cable tomorrow what should i get? its only tempory i should imagine.?
it will run behind you roof liner in the shell. Its usually really difficult to root. When i did mine i had to put all the wires in. Have you got an ISO lead in the car if so i would find the rear speaker wires, chop them, put some conectors in and put the new wires in. the if you ever want to put the parcel shelf ones back in all you have to do is conect them up
its a standar tape/radio that was in a 1989 mini mayfair G reg?? ile cut em solder new wire on and run it under the carpet! to the speakers then bring it out the bk of the carpets behidn the board then wire em to the speakers! sounds like a plan!

ok got some audio cable with spades already on! 3 qwid for 2 lots of 3 mtre…
i disconected to spakes fro mthe radio of and conected them one up and the radio wont turn on… what have i done?
whats that in english miniman? what have you disconected? the ISO block? there are 3 power wires to the head unit. Negative earth, perminent live and ignition live so that the radio only comes on when the ignition is switched on. You mudt have affected on of these

an ISO block. One side of this will have 8 wires, the other side a fair fewer. All you have to do it fint which wires are the rear speaker wires(on the block with 8 wires comign out of it) and chop them, and put you own wire in.

you SHOULD have:
2 black rectangular connectors (ISO - stands for international standard)
in one of these blocks (the lower one) there should be a black earth, a yellow switched live and a red permanent live
with these above, it should turn on, the other block is speakers
or in your case its looking like its been cut off, if so your probably going to have to get friendly with a multimeter
ok im lost, as far as i can see theres one block in the back of the sterio and that had 2 wires commign out of itm, and a wire, wich i recon is the ariel because it comes throught the bottom shelf, then i expect it goes throught the bulk head. its a 1989 mayfair if that helps…, im not to fussed about it jsut would like some music! im gettign some ice for my birthday in may.
