Removing Heater Cable From Switch Panel

I have a 1995 SPi Cooper with the switch panel with 5 switches. Basically I am trying to replace the switch panel as my one is broken in two and I am half way through doing it but can’t figure out how to remove the heater cable from the old switch panel. Do I need to remove it from where it goes in the engine bay???

thats what i think you have to do. i suggest that when pulling the other cable you tie a piece of wire with the end of the outer cable so that you can reroute the cable easily when you put it in place

yes, you need to undo the end in the engine bay.
