Hello!
I am currently refitting the rear subframe briefly to make sure our full boot floor lines up before we weld it in.
But me, being a total plonker flrgot to note wich way round the rear trunnions go.
These ones - http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Suspension/Subframes/Fixings\_mountings/2A5819.aspx?190901&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/rear%20subframe.aspx|Back%20to%20search
So my question is, does the smaller end face the front or the rear of the car?
hope you understand…
Thanks alot, Mike
Big screw hole to the rear
Thanks.
i could only find diagrams in manulas and threads for earlier minis with 4 trunnions of the same.
You have helped alot, Thanks!
Actually, they are “supposed” to be fitted with the long bolt to the front, but it is a known fact that very many came out of the factory the other way round, so grahama is doubtless correctly recounting what he has seen. It does not matter in the least, for the rear mounts, as there is equal load on both bolts anyway, and the trunnions are only assymetrical so they could use the same part for front and rear. So put them any way you like.
What does matter is that the front trunnions, old type, have the long bolt at the top. The later type are symmetrical, as you know.
