ive got one, can get some pictures but why do you want one?
weight loss, rear suspension options.

Yes it looses weight, but it limits suspesnion options, doesn’t give more options.

I don’t know about that a coil over shock is far more tunable than a tradition damper and cone set-up is although it’s a much more expensive system.
I’ve been thinking about a rear beam as well as I have some Gaz coilovers on the way. My concern is it seems like a rear beam wouldn’t offer as much support to the rear of the car as the standard rear subby does. Has anyone noticed anything negative…at all while running a rear beam?
The back end of a mini is already quite light, and you’re losing the rear subframe which would absorb a fair chunk of energy in a rear end collision.
Make one yourself if your any good at welding ect..
I have a Huddersfield Beam that has previously been fitted but never used - offers around £90 if anybody is interested.
This whole rear beam thing seems to divide the Mini scene. Some say it makes the rear too light and worsens handling by making it too hard and ‘skittish’. Others say its the ultimate. Some say the rear turrets are too weak to take coilovers, other say its not an issue.
I would love to hear some experiences of those who have them in place - rather than those who dont.
H
aye … as Hughes says I too would like to hear feedback from people who have experience with them… being from canada i’ve only seen them on the internet and in magazines.. would like to know what peoples opinions are of them…
I’m with Hughes and Al! Anyone running these things got any feedback! Speak up!
Ive run 2 different ones on my Sprint, an alloy one and the current steel one, both home made. Ive used Gaz and Protech coilovers.
There arent any issues
I have just fitted Gaz coilovers to my rally car, but am sticking with the standard subframe to start with.
distinct lack of photos

Paul thanks for coming back to us ‘interested parties..’
When you say no issues - your car I assume is more race than road? Mine is more road so does the same apply? I have 13" wheels by the way so if anyone looking has direct experience with this set up please give us your thoughts.
I was going to go with pro-tech.
Road/race/13/10" makes no difference at all
Thing ive always said is that theres very little in cost difference when you work it all out but you save 10kilo with coilovers which is a decent amount.
Is it important to strengthen the rear turrets then? I’ve seen alot of people weld in new, stronger ones. I remember seeing this on Prawns mini on his build thread I think.

Sorry internet playing up
