Once the current Mini is running and perfect, and signed into the girlfriends’ name to appease my dad, I intend to build a track day weapon. Alloy hubs, brakes, cylinder head, 1330 etc, stripped interior, rollcage, EVERYTHING that will make the mini faster and less comfortable. But I am worried about insuring it, as it will probably be evolving continually even when it is on the road. I dont like the idea of paying 20quid a time to modify the insurance policy, so does anyone know if there is a “all and any mods covered” policy, where you pay and are allowed upto so many BHP increase by any means, any body/running gear mods and everything WITHOUT having to notify them every time?
Cheers
ring a few for the specialist insurers and ask there advice and see what policys are available
As Bungle says, start with the specialist insurers.
Other possibility is to state how it is, and ask them to note planned modifications on the insurance so they’re covered as they’re completed?
