ello everyone anyone know if its possible to fit a power steering kit to a mini and where to get one/who could fit it?

If you pay me 25k a year I will sit in your passenger seat and help you turn the steering wheel!
Other than that, I don’t think there are any kits available?? Maybe some of the Jap exports had power steering? Dunno matey.
I think the only thing you could do is try and retro fit something out of a later metro, but god knows where you would put the pump for the system

I aint sure, but I am think I read something in MiniWorld a few years ago about some Jap export mini that had everything fitted from new (power steering, air conditioning, fluffy dice)

Hard !.. what ya got, 13" spanglies.. and a 10" steering wheel…
Maybe worth just checking your ball joints are greased up and tyre pressures, as lack of maintenance in that department will make the steering heavy.
got std cooper wheels and steering wheel. maybe im just not used to it but its a pain in the arse when turning really tight.

haha, you should drove my mondeo. It seems to have a poor pump or air lock, on a stand still u need to be worlds strongest man. But once ur moving its well light.

yeah they use that in sum mk2 escort rally cars .. wimps!! 
Don’t turn the wheel whilst stationary, like your supposed to. It’s much easier.
I read that a few of the German export Mini’s had a steering ‘assister’ fitted? In fact I’m sure there’s someone on this forum who’s got one with the kit fitted.
I think its just an electric motor piggybacked onto the steering column and using some kind of torque sensor to assist with the steering…(unless I dreamt the whole thing!)
