not so sooper handling

ddddddddoooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

just slid on a wet corner and went straight into a curb.

the frount subframe has been pushed into the bulkhead and thers is a small crease visable.

i am very upset/angry/imbarrased

this is gonna be expensive!

oopsie :nugget:

ooops

try a porta power

o dear :gasp:

oh dear

i dunno how much its gonna cost me i am going to the garage tomorrow to get a quote. i just hope the steering racks ok, the one on there has only done a couple of months driving.

does anyone know if fitting negative camber arms makes the steering worse in the wet?

I did the same and bent my subframe, bulkhead, A pillar, wing, bottom arm, steering rack, shock mount, driveshaft and snapped the tie bar and put a massive crease in my wheel.

Fixed all the bent stuff that night then took the car to my mates body shop and he *cough* jigged it back out for my. His methods were a little primative, but it worked and was free - we too the front end off and tied a chain around the front subframe and a steel pillar in his workshop and revved the engine fairly high before letting the clutch go. After a couple of attempts it was back to normal, but if you are a nervous person then I wouldn’t suggest watching as this is done, unless you like seeing your beloved car bounceing about a foot off the floor every time the chain goes tight

ouch! :nugget:

and they made you head mini doc on here :saywhat:

lol @ bungle
ive done something like that to a mates fiat after he put it in a ditch and bent the chassis, we chained the back to a post then i used my lorry with a chain on the bent chassis, 2 or 3 good pulls and it was like new :smartass:

Been there done that…

The way to get rid of a dent is reverse the procedure which caused it… :erm: :nugget:

A ‘crashette’! LOL!

Gutted for you!

O Dear, You car looked so good, bet it will look better than it is now when its fixed.

LOL @ Rich, I love that did that with a few escorts of my mates LOL!!! ~

Unlucky for you mate hope you get it sorted.

its good news i went into the local mini garage at lunch and showed him the damage, he said it wasnt too bad and will be easily fixed with a jig. he has moved a few jobs around and he is going to do it tomorrow.

i think it may cost a bit as i need a few new mounts and there is going to be the labour aswell but at least it will be back on the road in one piece.

i have given it a cheak over in the light today and the only thing that shows is that the wheels is curbed a bit. and if you look a bit closer you can see the wheels are misaligned but apart from that you would never know.

you curbed those alloys??? how dare you!! and i thought they were going a good home!!!

glad it’ll be fixed mate!

lol minimadjonesy. no the wheels arent any more curbed than when i got them.

they did go to a good home honest, there are going to be fully reconditioned when i get the money.

Mate, you know I’m only joking! Glad the car will be fixed! shame to see all your work go to waste!

yay i got my car back yesterday!

it all drives straight and is all good, the only thing i am not keen on is that the handling is really light now.

i am hoping to get this better by adjusting the tie rods.

the down side is that i am going to new a new subframe as it is slightly bent!
