lights and modified soundproofing for engine bay (thats the silver stuff)

the latest touch the wheel arches

what have i done to the mini so far.

the panels which have been replaced are the inner and outer sills, floor pans and steps for the doors on both sides. i have done a few repairs both inside at the joints near the rear subframe and underneath. the rear half of the boot and the rear subrame mountings in the boot have all been replaced, the rear section under the bumper had to be removed and refitted with the supports being remade to fit. fun was had doing that  .
i have also had to do some repairs in the engine bay, the front left wing needed to be repaired, and inside the drivers and pass dash at the air vents.
the rear subframe is 2nd hand (no suprise there hey) and all the susspention and hubs have all been stripped down and sprayed gold. the braking sysytem has been renewed, wheel cylinders, shoes, drums, pipes, and new wheel bearings fitted all round.
i picked up a set of alloys from my friendly scrappy, and after no joy anywhere getting the correct wheel nuts, i had to have a set modified by a local manufacturer. no lathe otherwise i would have done it my self. my moto is (why get someone to do what you can do yourself)
the engine has been stripped down and all parts painted gold, the block and head were painted with a high temp red paint, (next time i need to do this i will get a tin instead of can as it didn’t take to some points of the head and block as others.trile and error again
the interior is standard so far i have got a new carpet and underlay, its black with red trim, and i want to get the seat done a simalar colour.
the ICE is a standard pioneer cd changer, with 2 speakers going on the rear shelf, 2 speakers out of my old 820 which are going into the rear sections to the side of the rear seats, need to make brackets for them yet. and i have a nice large speaker, which i dont know yet where it will fit.
the roof will have a welsh flag on it, and a small canadian flag will be on the bonnet.
do need some help not sure weather to put chrome or black bumpers on her yet, i do have black ones at the moment, which need a respray so might use them and go from there.
hope you like the pictures i will add more as i do it. :wales:

looks and sounds lush mate

yeah its coming along nicely..
had more fun today down the scrappy’s.
picked up disc hubs, with drive shafts, and spare disc’s 2 carbs, just to be on the safe side, the drivers door i was after, door seals, windscreen all for £65, all i have to do is fit them. only went down for a WS and carb but they had 2 new mini’s for me to get parts off. Oh yes i also got some proper indicators.. :wales:

 good good. why wernt they proper before?

the pictures dont really show the modified indicators i have fitted at the moment, i will take a picture and ad to this site, but they were aquired, and have a screw lens fitted.

nice

my mini is now almost complete.
got the new drive flanges today, so now no more freeplay in the hubs.
lights all now working, after problems with the hazards which turned out to be the in line fuse, which controls the hazard warning lights and the interior light, also by the looks of it the main beam supply!
i had indicator’s, side light’s, and hi beam only, and no power to the flasher relay in the engine bay. 40 min of working out what power comes from where using dr haynes, lots of sketches of wiring diagrams, and hey prestoe needed to find the in line fuse, looks like this car has had this problem before, because mine has been replaced and a new one stuck in the engine bay. changed the fuse and all is working.
this afternoon was spent putting in the centre console and making speaker mounts to go in the side pockets, so i now have speakers on the rear shelf in the side pockets connected together, and i am looking at a way of mounting my large speaker in the front under the dash!!
i still have to finish putting the speakers in ands finish of rebuilding the console and fit the sterio, then change the lh drive flange and put in an in line fuel filter in, i’m having a lot of trouble with dirty fuel, must be in the tank, probable need to take it off and flush it out.. put the doors on bonnet and front windscreen all before the end of the month…
anyone got a prayer for me???
anyway here are some pics
