My Mh47E Chinook...

Just thought id share a little project of mine with you all. I’m currently building an MH-47E Chinook for a PC game called ‘Arma2’. I’ve been making it for about 6 months now, and released it last week. It’s the 1st Addon I’ve built with so much stuff added to it, has about 20+ different features and I’m always adding to that, such as Correct Number of Flares/Countermeasures in a Forward Direction, Lock Dectection System Complete with Warning Sounds. 2 Cargo Positons on the Edge of the Ramp, 20 Different Radio Chatter Sounds, Improved Blade System, bend when under load etc, FLIR & Laser Marker on Co-Pilots Camera, Ability to Sling Load RHIB’s, HMWVV’s & the M119 & Fast Roping for Cargo Crew Passengers.. So yeah alot has been added

If anyone is intrested in anymore information, it can all be found here : http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?142794-Boeing-SOAR-MH-47E-v1-0-Release

Thanks Been about 5 months I’ve been adding detail to this

Is that for DayZ mod?

Nope just the standard Arma2  DayZ is being made into a seprate game soon

Is it the modelling work you’ve been doing? If so I know exactly how much work goes in to a good quality model with good poly distribution.

I used to (still do on occasion) model cars for games like Carmageddon. I was actually making a Mini not so long ago but time got the better of me.

I’d like to get back in to it, maybe when the new Carmageddon game is released I will.

The model was actually already in ArmA2 from my friend, he gave me permission to edit it so ive built the other parts and redesigned all the model lods, texturing work etc… & alot of config work lol.

Its not an easy thing to do at all, which you probably already know Deathrow
Very time consuming but worth it at the end of the day when you can sit there and drive/fly it

Got any pictures of the Mini you was building?

Ahh I see. I’ve always let myself down with texturing and setup work. Quite often I finish models and they just sit waiting to be textured.

And here is the old thread: http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/162232-3d-mini/

Making them for Carmageddon was always fun as you get to smash them up afterwards.

Here are a few of the most recent wip shots of a BMW I’ve been making, I won’t embed them:

Haha wow that mini you built looks amazing!
Dosent look like much left to do? Do you have to do shadows? Interior views etc?
Heck that would look cool driving out a MH47 ha!

The BMW is also looking good  Rear wheel drive in carmegeddon? Lol.

Nah there is loads left to do, not happy with how accurate the body is at all and I would want it to be exact, bulkhead, underside, interior, the lot. I may come back to it one day. It was for a project I was going to do but it never came to light.

Yeah you can do rear wheel drive in Carmageddon. Doesn’t help that it’s lacking a drive train and engine though haha.

Yeah it really makes a difference when you have detail added in  Sometines get carried away with too much detail

Haha, I’ve never played carmageddon, will have to buy it and have a go. You build the whole engine or just top and bottom and leave middle?

I like to be accurate so I usually build the whole thing so you can see through the engine bay as you would a real car :).

Ah fair play  I don’t think I’d have patience to build the whole A Series and texture it lol.

Well that’s my problem, I get carried away with the modelling and then I can’t be bothered to texture it haha.

Haha Texture it as you go?

Hmmm maybe. Be just my luck that i’d end up changing the geometry though and have to re-map it haha. You’ve really got me wanting to start up again. Maybe once I’ve moved house and the Mini is painted.

Yeah typically that happens lol. Happened to me numerous times, then the weight of the model goes out of sync as you add more ha!

Haha! Do it Let the mini live lol!
