Minifins..?

Dear All,

for a std. 998 or with Stage 1, are these really worth it.?

I read about brake bias (F & R) and the rear drums hardly do anything, and sometimes are ‘turned off’ all together (on the track).

Being a bit of a ‘magpie’, they look like a relatively inexpensive piece of kit and look great! But if the rears don’t do much, then why are they even sold..? Do the ‘fins’ actually help cooling, even when they % use overall is minimal.?

Cheers as always

Their biggest advantage is really in the saving of unsprung weight.

Ah, so still a benefit rather than just looking good - Cheers.

Other than that pretty pointless for on the road unless you use it for racing at the weekend where weight reduction matters.

If you’ve got drums up front, they make a big difference there.

I fitted a set to the rear of my Wife’s Moke (8.4’s up front) and they did make a small but noticeable difference to how the brakes felt and their effectiveness.

waste of money unless your going to drive hard where the brakes get cooked. its as simple as that really.

Discs are a more cost effective upgrade. Theory is to dissipate heat but you will still get gas trapped between the shoe and the drum.

You’d be mad to fit them for performance. For road use they look pretty
