Fitted a new exhaust system at the weekend but didnt re-route the main power cable coming from the battery to the engine bay. When i drove it long enough the exhaust melted through the casing of the cable and exposed it and the wire came into contact with the exhaust. The car obviously died. Have replaced the blown fuse (position 3 & 4 25A) and moved the main power cable so that it is no longer touching the exhaust pipe. Have also checked all electrical cables in the car to make sure all connections are good. (although my negative battery connection is very worn there is still a connection and it hasnt been a problem before)
However it still wont start, is this simply because my battery is flat or is there a whole mess of problems awaiting me.
Will be checking the battery tonite, but hoping u guys could save me a few hours in the cold
Thankin u in advance
