Righty after having alot of trouble with my HIF44, I decided to take it off and clean it out and try again.
After spending the best part of yesturday rebuilding everything I went to fire it up and guess what, nothing.
Engine turned over fine and it actually kicked in for about 5 seconds but went dead after and i couldnt get it going again.
My first thought was the carb isn’t getting fuel, but after whipping off the dash pot and putting a pipe over the jet and sucking, fuel came pouring through and into my mouth (yummy!) and after sucking some fuel into the carb it actually fired up again for around 10 seconds and died.. and now im having this same problem over and over…its like fuel isnt getting through the jet unless im manually priming it.
And the choke doesn’t seem to be doing anything either.

Did you put a new o ring seal on the choke spindle?
If its detoriated the choke wont be much cop.
I didn’t take the choke apart, the choke was working fine before so i didn’t see the need to take it out…
The problem i was having before was the mixture wasn’t setting right and the carb kept overflowing, so i stripped it down to set the float properly and cleaned any crap out of it..
