wow that’s dodgy…
Aside from it’s very suspect ID, this surely has to be one of the best quotes I’ve seen in a Mini for sale ad:
“This vehicle has been chipped and the best speed we got was 125 mph and it is still capable of doing well over the ton easily with no effort.”
Don’t look right
Some people! Lol what a joker
You know all the ringers I harp on about? Well…
Someone’s stolen mpi on an old V5.
I’m so confused…
His brother has the V5 for the shell its green???
Member here do we think or not?
All minis are the same durr!
I love how these people reshell cars in the 80s using bodies from the late 90s, a time machine big enough to fit an mpi Cooper in must be some contraption!
What’s the car reflected in the photo? Another ringer perhaps.
scroll to the bottom of the ad and look at the questions people have asked!
interesting clubman to round nose conversion
from the questions , it appears the the real owner recognises it
There must be someone we can report this to, how can people keep getting away with this!
125? I’m gonna go and test drive this awesome new Mini ‘roundwing’.
this is both hilarious and terrifying at the same time…
lololololololololololololololololololololol
lol
The vendor sure has some ‘neck’. It is simply a late car with an early V5 and plates. Clearly the vendor knows this as his evasive answer tend to confirm.
If it had been a restored Clubman there is no way a round front would have been fitted, nor all those later parts and paint job. Who would want to reduce the value by not restoring it as the original?
I saw a ‘mk2 cooper’ sell the other day, for mk2 cooper money (nearly 5k). It was a mk4 shell, grey 80s interior, a+ 1275, cheap bucket seats, nothing left from the original car at all.
I wish people were more aware of the differences between shells, it would strip the value of these cars and stop people ringing them.
If they’ve really ‘used mpi bits’ and the bulkhead etc, did they transplant both side panels so they could have that highly desireable late gutter as well…?
This bloke is fooling nobody.
This is absolutely disgraceful! Most likely this is someone’s stolen pride and joy that has been had over yet again!!! We all need to be reporting this (and others that crop up) to the police via avics - email here [email protected] other contact details here http://avcis.police.uk/portfolio-item/contact-us/ and general information here http://avcis.police.uk/
People that do this (steal cars to ring them and flog them) are the scum of the earth and if this is what is going on here then the seller needs reporting and prosecuting! Even if miraculously the seller is the legitimate owner of the old identity and the newer car, its still totally illegal to match the two!
Here endith my rant! And Breath! :-p
He even went to the trouble of installing the Rover Airbag system into his 1971 clubman.
Good luck proving that this car is Legit when the Police come knocking on his door.
I hope he goes down for it, i really do.
I shall report it now and so should everyone else reading this. It only takes 5 mins to write an e-mail to AVCIS and we can help to try and put a stop to this nonsense.
If you are going to ring a car, don’t be so blatantly obvious and then advertise it on eBay where a majority of people looking will be into Mini’s and know that this is a late MPI mini with nothing changed apart from the VIN and VRM plates.
