Indicator And Hazard Failure !

Hazards and Indicators have both stopped working

I have still got reversing lights (so the indicator relay fuse isn’t blown)
The interior light is still working (so the hazard flasher and direction indicator fuse isn’t blown)

I’ve stripped and cleaned (although to be fair it was pretty good inside anyway) the hazard switch - but are the 3 pieces of copper on the “boat” inside the switch supposed to be stuck together or are they just supposed to be held together with the spring

Secondly - is there an inline fuse for the hazards and if so - where do I find it

Thirdly - anyone any idea where I might fuind the hazard and indicator relay (and are they one and the same)

As you might have gathered I only got the car at the weekend (had a number of minis perviously) and the indicators and hazards were fine when I got it !!!

91 onwards the hazard and indicator relays were one and the same, replacing it would be a good start, the’re not too expensive.

Sorry mine’s an 86 so i dont know where you would find it, on my car its on the bulkead in the engine compartment beside the wiper motor.

Sounds like you’ve got an almost identical problem to me! Keep an eye on my thread incase anything pops up there that might help you Let me know if you manage to get it fixed!

Actually - I have just cracked it !! - found the “flasher” relay (black) under the dash on right hand side of steering wheel. I pulled it out and pushed it back in (probably cleared the contacts) and everything started to work again. Don’t know whether its a permanent fix but hey, its working for now
