Ignnition Coil Cable Leakage?

MODEL : mini mayfair 1000cc auto-transmission
YEAR : 1974

PROBLEM :

i saw a spark coming out from ignition coil cable after i started my car.is it normal?

i also noticed that after i started my car when i change the gear to R or 1 the RPM dropped below 500 (at N around 900) and if i stay idle without changing the gear to N the engine will stop.

when im driving uphill…i can feel as if the car doesnt have enough power making the driving not that smooth.sometimes the car gets “stucky” like something pulling the car from behind…any idea why?

Sorry, I can’t offer any advice about the automatics. Hopefully someone more familiar will post soon. In the meantime, take a look at my friend Todd’s site. He has some information about the automatic there.

The visible spark isn’t really good. It probably means you have some old ignition components that are developing cracks. In the near future, start your car at night in a fairly dark or dimly lit place. Open the bonnet and watch the spark plug wires, coil, and distributor cap. The location of the sparks will hint at which component needs replacing. However, if you see a spark coming out of the coil… don’t assume the coil needs replacing. In that case, start by replacing the spark plug wires.

i came out from the head of the ignition coil that connected to the distributor cable.no sparks from spark plug cables.
