Driving to my mates work shop this morning a nice 70 mph and the bonnet flew up, has to be the most scariest thing eve, its all bent out of place and bent my wipers, that defiantly woke me up.
Geebus!
thats a good reason to fit bonnet pins and straps, and the normal catch and then pay someone to sit on your bonnet!
Yea I went and bought myself some bonnet pins gonna buy a fibreglass one,
I had that happen the year before last with my rally Rover 214Si. The person who had been working on it the night before (my lovely Grandson!) neglected to put the bonnet pins in and there is no other bonnet lock. I was on a country lane at about 75 when it suddenly came up and smashed the screen. The Rover bonnet is full-width so I had to look at the RH verge in order to stop safely. I think the person most frightened was the driver of a Fiesta going the other way. He stopped and was shaking. I had to calm him down!
When it happens with a Mini you can just see around the outside of it.
Not with a clubby
Bambi had this happen to him a couple of years ago at SMD. **** him up a bit!!

and i just said “ok… pull over” or something. well durr! haha
This happened to my mate the other day on the way back from Skeg. I was behind him and I was on the brakes before he was! He found it quite funny, his brother who owns the car found it even funnier. Needs a new bonnet and the wiper arms are a bit bent but other than that it was fine.
I had similar, 60 on a single carriageway, passenger freaked and started screaming, a big heavty bloke, I could still see sort of. I pulled into a layby and stopped and barked “Will you shut the ***k up”
Happened to someone in my club on the way to London to Brighton, hi Will!
This happened to my dad when he took my mum out for a date! They were only about 18 at the time.
