I-pod Problems

Hi all! I hope you can help with this as the Mini garage cant!

Im having problems connecting my I-pod nano 4th gen to the Mini One 09 via the USB port. When I connect the I-pod to the car, the car doesn’t register that there is a connection to the USB port and will not play my i-pod through the radio. The funny thing is that my brother’s older I-Pod works and the onboard computer lets you control the i-pod through the radio. I think his I-pod is a 3rd generation model. What I find very bizarre is the fact that my car is brand new i.e. 09 plate and mini have not updated their software to allow 4th gen I-pods to connect. I can use the AUX port but then i lose the fuction of controlling the I-pod through the radio.

Any ideas folks?!

Thanks in advance

Maybe try a car audio shop as opposed to a car main dealer

Try looking on MINI2 forum, may be able to offer more/better advise as we are mainly geared towards the classic mini, failing that then as suggested already try your local car audio fitting center for advise!

you could try the av forums, they discuss anything to do with audio video

or the ipod lounge

Many thanks guys!

I will look into these options!
