Was doing my dad a favour tonight by giving him a lift to pick a car up & a bloody deer jumps out right in front of me. Luckily was only doing around 35 I think but I didn’t even see it, just felt the smash then saw the stupid thing laying in the road.
This is what it’s done to the clubby anyway -
Obviously done bumper, grille, number plate, it’s done the bonnet as well, pushed the fornt panel all in, ruined the front mounted rad & pushed that back through the dizzy cap. Don’t think it’s caught the subby but it was dark so couldn’t check too much.
The other thing that really annoyed me was the stupid woman in the car behind who didn’t get out, ask if we were ok & just tried to squeeze past then sat there & we had to move the deer out of the road as she was getting stressy becuase she couldn’t get past
man thats a bit *******, is it going to be expensive?
my brother’s ex is an RSPCA inspector, they had a call that someone had done similar to what happened to you, but the deer was alive however it had 3broken legs, my brother had to hold it down while she shot it in the head.
i was talking about hitting a deer the other night with my brother in the car, we concluded that if we hit a big deer the the legs would break when/if you hit it and the body would be a the perfect level to come straight through the windscreen and do some serious damage.

Or sell it for the repair costs! lol! venison goes for a good price!
Still what a horrible thing to happen! there are lots of stories around me about deer jumping into oncoming traffic. It always worries me im going to meet one!
Had that happen to me in my Citroen, Munkjack hit the car, went though the grill and ended up stuck in the engine bay. Freed itself when I went over a speed hump and ran off…major damage done to poor car ~ and to add insult to injury, it tried hitting me again when I got the car going!!!
by the way If you hit and kill a deer, it’s illegal for you to claim it as roadkill but the car behind can???

The deer was stone dead, wasn’t too big luckily. It’s also quite lucky that I have a 1275 gt in for spares at the moment that has been hit in the back so have all the bits to repair mine. Hopefully with a bit of work the front panel will come out ok.
