Welcome!!! Looks like a nice shiney example that you have got yourself there!! I have to say that you’re a brave man for buying it with only a months MOT left, but hopefuly you therefore got it a bargain price too. Fingers crossed that the MOT is just a formality and that it breezes through it no problem!!
Lookin’ good!!! If there is one mod that you really need to do though… it’s to get it off those skinny 145 tyres and get yourself a set of slightly wider 165/60/12’s, trust me it will handle like a completely different car and will also look much better too. It was by far the best thing I ever did to my mini and was worth every single penny many times over!!
If you’ve got to replace the two fronts for the MOT any way, then go for 165’s all round, you really wont regret it!! *(oh but be sure to keep your spare as a 145 though, as 165’s don’t fit under the tank very well in the boot!)*
Oh god no!!!.. it’s got classic looks and style on those minilites, just needs slightly wider tyres to improve the handling and looks a little. Last thing it needs is some tacky oversized chrome star mags and huge arches!!!
But then I guess it all comes down to personal taste I suppose!!!.. (shudders)
ive gone off those wheels,
i can see where your coming from though
just want to be different
the wheels i have seem to be really common…
ill have to look around at some wheels
there are some supertrax that i like and some 5 spoke ones star somthing
im not sure on what to do exterier wize
was thinking of giving it some bonnet stripes whatt ya think?

The reason they are really common is partly beacuse they are standard Rover items and partly because minilites suit the classic look of the mini far better than any other type of wheel. I would stick with minilites personaly and if you want to be different, you could always get a set in white or in anthracite or even in the highly polished chromed/mirror like finish (at least the similar looking superlites are available in that finish any way). You could even look at getting yours repainted to save a bit of cash, if you could get a body colour match in red that would be certainly be different!!
I wouldnt go for bonnet stripes personaly, as they are just so common (particularly on red mini’s) it looks more original to have a white roof and no stripes to be honest. Italian Job style set of spot lamps in chrome on a spot lamp bar would look good on your car though I reckon!!
The minilights are growing on me just gotta sort out the damage now umm red seems interesting or at least White with either a red lip or red rim tape uncertain on the fogs I spose I’ll have to see if someone will Photoshop me with a set on and the wheels done.
