can anyone help me i am trying to get my head off because the stem seals need changing and i am gonna port and polish it while its off but there is one problem the bugger wont come off :sad:
i have undone all the bolts. has anyone got any hints or ideas pretty please with a cherry on top! :fear:
before you do this check with a mini doc
but you can use the compression of the engine
remove plug leads loosen head nuts but dont remove
remove rockers and push rods
turn engine over for a second
this should work but ask a mini doc as the engine we did this was old any way

Give it a go… If I have a stubborn head, it normally ends up with the full weight of the engine (and car if necessary ) hanging from it, and a hoist, I then hit the head with a poly mallet.. bit brutal, but normally does the trick…It’s usually cause by the head gasket sticking and not wanting to prise apart.
