Hi all, today i washed my car for the second time (bought it last month) but when i went to vacuum clean the carpets i foud that the whole driver side floor was wet!!! did not happen last time, has this happened to anyone elase? is it common? all the door seals seem to be ok, are there any parts of the subframe that subject to letting water in? Thanks alot pple!!!
best bet is to lift the carpet up.
- so it can dry and
- so you can see if you have any holes/rust.
But it could just be rubber seals around the doors.
sit in it and then get someone to pour water over the car and see if you can see it coming in anywhere.
proberly comming in from behind the door card leaking in from the window edge, check the drain holes in the door for starters

I have known some cars leak using pressure washer. The seals are only designed to keep rain out, not water sprayed direct at them.
Check window seals also.
Other then that, could have a hole somewhere…
Thanks! i lifted all the carpets and the water is all on the floorbut just on my side, i did jet wash it this time so it might be getting in from there, would you racommend putting up som silicon around the door seals? would i just make a mess? also since i took out the carpets im thinking of getting new ones, who makes good pre shaped carpets for my MK7 (with fuse box)? thanks again!!!
Could it be from the heater matrix?
Hmmm heater matrix…where is that? the carpet near the pedals was dry, is the heater martix near there?
If it’s from the heater matrix (or valve since its a Mk7) it’ll smell of antifreeze as it’ll be engine coolant. You’ll see it dripping off the heater box if it is leaking there or water staining on the box. Don’t silicon the door seals. No-one makes aftermarket moulded carpets for Mk7 cars at the moment, but Mini Sport had the final stock of Rover ones in all the standard colours and may still have some left if you ask.

umm… theres some creamy coloured stuff thats leaked down onto my box…? I just ignored it… Do you know what it is?
I had this problem, it was just water coming in form above the door when i washed it. I dont think I have a rubber seal all the way around!?!?!?!? Also, condensation if it isnt used alot
