Electronic Dizzy / Module?

My engine is finally back in one piece - 10 years after dissembly - it’s base is an early MG Metro (82-3)- so now I come to thinking about the dizzy - I have a Lucas 64D but this is not the cooper version that would suit the proporties of an MG lump - so thinking has gone back to the original dizzy fitted to the engine - the 59D which is obviously the best match being original equipment - budget doesn’t run to buying a new dizzy and with all fast salvage from dead cars something gets left behind - in this case the ignition module. Have spent the afternoonhaving a rummage in the garage and have come across a never fitted mobelec electronic conversion kit for a 25D dizzy (circa late 70’s) the trigger head obviously won’t fit but it doesn’t need to - the 59D is all complete so all I’ll need to to is connect up - but the question is - (a real long shot as mobelec I think went bust many many moons ago) will this work???

If not does anyone know where I can cost effectively lay my hands on the right module - they seem to be extinct!

the only module I know of is for the 65DM4 and thats the dab118. Don’t know if that helps you or not

Cheers newdawn - the 64D is my fallback - my example is pristine and works fine, but pushing on with my hybrid 59D / mobelec module just need to find a working non ballasted coil to try it outI sure theres one lurking in my garage somewhere - what’s the worst that could happen )
