I am I right in assuming that doors with side impact bars have different internals, or can I just swap them directly for the doors on my Mini 30?
I have a mint pair in the correct Cherry Red and obviously it’d be a lot easier and cheaper to be able to swap them as opposed to selling them to finance the purchase of alternatives!

Apart from the bars themselves, they are no different
Everything is transferable from normal to side impact and vice versa. Even the impact beam can be removed from door (assuming its not absolutely mangled to death) and fitted into a non impact door. It’s a bit of a fiddle getting it in through the top slot and it will mark the outer panel slightly - but easy to dress out. My MPI Estate has one modified earlier door and one genuine MPI with all MPI internals and trim/handles in each. Later doors were not very well treated inside - my friends Mini 40 lower skin edges are bubbling and it seems that the waxoyl has bridged across the corner and left a path for water underneath - if yours look OK then it might be a good idea to get the bottom edge hot to let the wax melt again - without damaging the paint!
