Creaking / Rattle Noise

Mini City 92, 998 Fast Road Cam, Stage 1

Erm well may be a shot in the dark but here goes, seems somewhere on the passengers side I have a odd noise, starts as a creaking sound (best way I can say really) then at speed develops into a steady rattle, sounds metal on metal, only happens occasionally. Asked a local mini guy and he seems to think I’ve got a loose bolt somewhere (prob a mount) and its just a case of going round and checking the lot

Any suggestions?

by the way doesn’t seem to change with engine speed ie rattles faster n slower accordingly

couldn’t be a bearing or ball joint could it?

thanks anyhow

Did you sort out the misfire/rev counter problem?

off topic, but no, misfire gone for now (seemed to just be my car having a senior moment), rev counter still swinging, found the sleeve around the earth strap off the starter is split but metal looks good, if a possible.

jack up the front and give the wheel a rattle to see if there is any slack in the hub assembly…

also check your wheel nuts are tight… although I am sure they are…

Maybe its your disc shields that are rattling

Same took me ages t find it, once I did ripped them both off, waste of time/weight in my opinion.
