Hello everyone out there in Mini world
I hope I’m doing this right as this is the first time on a “forum” but hey ill give it a crack.
I’m new to the mini game in the deep south of “New Zealand” and once I found this site I became hooked on my wee beasty!
About 3 months ago one of my good friends said he was selling his little 1975 Clubman DIRT CHEAP. After heaps of people kept asking him if he would take it to bits and sell it for parts I stepped in and said that I would lovingly take it off his hands for $350 kiwi dollars (165 pounds? ish).
The reason why he was selling it because he was going flatting and well his little car had to go.
He had loads of ideas and good intentions on getting it back on the road but well lack of enthusiasm killed that so NOW ITS MINE MWAH HA HA.
When he had it it was a decent little runner with the stock 1000cc engine.
After a little while of owning it he decided to scrap the 1 litre and get a little bigger engine so he purchased a 1300 out of a Austin Landcrab??? (if any one knows what the heck this is please let me know) and put it into the clubman . . sort of.
Also he put dynamat throughout the car and boot apparently to reduced the noise or something, all I know is it is SUPER sticky and hard to get off your fingers.
From there that’s where he stopped and that’s where I have started . . . one very confusing jigsaw puzzle and considering I have about as much mechanical skills as a donkey this will be a challenge
