Car Covers

Hi everyone,

car covers - good or bad? This is in relation to a mini that is currently in good nick (just had a full respray), no rust but unfortunately has to live outside

The paint bod who did the car doesn’t believe in car covers and the only make matters worse. Also, for them to be effective (if at all according to him) the car needs to be totally dry before putting a cover on. If the last statement is true, then that is probably a showstopper, as up here in Scotland, the car is either being driven in the nice/dry weather…or parked up when it’s wet. The cover would end up going on when the wet stuff is probably coming down!!

anyway…any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi i bought one for my mini as its sat on the drive an awful lot, and it rains here all the time like the guy said it has to go on when its dry or the water just gets trapped between the cover and car! Ive found that a waterproof garde sail is much better and gives you somewhere to work on the car if its wet. Saying that i do use the car cover though but if its wet i wait until the car is dry. Hope this helps and i havn’t waffled on to much!!!
