Replaced my cat this afternoon. i am a bit unsure about the rear flanges (between the cat and the rear box).
you will see in the picture that where the flanges meet at they fit together, but in the middle (both top and bottom) there is a gap. I should had paid more attention to how the old one was fitted,
i think you may have over tightened them, not sure though, i think there should be a gap all the way around and the plate shouldint bend inwards, it should be flat, not 100% though!
a solution could be to remove it, turn the plate the other way round and tighten the bolts till the plate is flat, but if its not causing any problems should be ok!
Why do people always fit bolts that are too long???
Better that than too short…..
But also, when lying on your back on a gravel driveway, trying to wrestle an exhaust and cat together since i am not Magnus Samualsson, I had a hard time holding the parts close enough together for a 1 1/2 inch bolt which would have been perfect. so I decided to use an 2 inch bolt instead, which made the whole thing a bit easier.

Thanks for your constructive criticism
The OPs exhaust is fitted correctly, the reason for the 2 inch bolts are because of tolerences between the car and link pipes!
