Im now looking into sorting out the sound system in my car now that my funds are starting to build back up after my rebuild
I currently am going to refit my headunit as found HERE
Im currently looking at a set of 6x9’s which are these Vibe ones
And also i would like a set of component speakers in my dash and i rather fancy these ones Here
What i dont have a clue about is what amp would be able to run both these sets of speakers properly so if anyone could give me a few examples as to what may be upto the job, could they post me a couple of links to a few choices for me to have a look at
Might be worth going the extra for a 5th channel if you’re thinking of adding a sub at a later date? (unless the 6x9’s are enough?). I recently found a Genesis Profile 5 on fleabay for less than 200 quid (400-500 quid new), so I think you’d be mad not to have a root around on there to see what it throws up before buying new. People seem to be selling all kinds of nice kit at the moment, what with the dreaded “credit crunch”

No worries, there are plenty out there, it just depends on your budget really. I had about 200 quid in mind for mine, so got stuck into ebay first. It seems lady luck came my way.
For alternative choices, take a looks at the ratings on the one I suggested first and head for something similar on those stakes. For instance, if you wanted to match your speaker brand to the amp, Vibe do this jobby :
Thanks once again for your feed back Watso, ive had a nosey around ebay and didnt come across and cheap ones of the JBL amp you suggested, but i did come across this vibe item at a reasonable price i thought, but would it be upto the job?

Anyway, looks as though you’ve found a bargain there mate! Not sure if it is the same, it may be an older model (i.e last years!), but it’ll do the job all the same.
Might be worth querying if there are any “other reasons” for the dude selling it, but maybe thats just me being paranoid…
That’s weird, haven’t seen the Blackbox “concept” model before. It looks a lot like my Blackbox Stereo 4 (a cracking amp) but is shorter and only has one endplate.

Cheers Ouster, guess this back up my “query the seller” part in my previous post . Lots of weird stuff out there aint there?!
Maybe it was a limited pre production run or something, but I’d definitely contact the seller and ask him where he got it as well as its specification. You may find it differs to the “normal” Blackbox stuff on sale.

So what questions would you recomend me to ask the seller then, any in particular?Just the spec of the amp itself and possibly to send me a few more better quality pics?
I’m not sure what it is; it doesn’t show on Vibes discontinued products list. They may have updated the Blackbox Stereo 4 but since the seller has said it’s 6 months old, this is unlikely. I’d ask him if he knows about this and if so to clarify the differences between the two. If it’s the real deal, then thats a very good price; the Blackbox Stereo 4 when new was around £240.
Looking at it with a less cynical spin (although caution is still the best policy), it could just be a bit of “sales speak” employed to shift it?! Either way, im sure there are a number of others for sale at similar prices if this one turns out to be a dud ad.?
