Im currently a 17 year old learner, and i have my mini insured in my mums name with me as a named driver. Its staying like this untill i pass my test. Just wondering how much alloy wheels will effect my insurance, my current price is around £800, but with just me insured it goes up to £1,100. So how much does getting alloy wheels effect my insurance ?

best thing to do is ask them, they may only increase your premium a little, if you fit them without
telling them and you have an accident they will void your insurance, not worth the risk…
think it may vary with different companies so best bet is to ring around and ask
can tell you that my mini with stage 1, alloys, different steering wheel and spots was only 700quid (tpft, 2 years no claims)
was the same price when i compared it without declaring the alloys
Didn’t effect mine one bit, I’m 17 on my own policy, went from mayfair hub caps to 6x12 revos’ with yoko tyres
