A Lame Question But..

For An Rc40 What Gives A Better Sound. Mild Steel Or Stainless. I No Stainless Is £50pound More But Is There A Difference Sound Wise.

thankss sam

I’ve heard that stainless tends to be quieter and tinny sounding?

So mild steel gives a more sporty note?

I doubt if there’s much difference, likely depends more on the manufacturer. I think the main benefit of stainless, is that it doesn’t rust!

Stainless is well worth the extra money !!! I’ve had my stainless RC40 for at least 12 years and still going strong !

i would pay the extra and go for a stainless steel system

my stainless RC40 has been on my mini for almost 10 years now

Lol i want to know the same question

I hate to be a nag, but if you’re buying an exhaust purely for sound… *shakes head solemnly*

In my eyes the “better” exhaust is the one which will last longer and improve performance. I don’t know about RC40 performance (I’m a Maniflow girl) but I’d say Stainless is better. It’s a hefty price hike but if it means you never have to spend the money again it’s worth it.

stainless “can” be tinny sounding but depends on the grade and constuction. you also need to ensure that the internals are stainless steel too. by the sounds of it the RC40 ones are, if they are lasting 12 years +.

buying an exhaust just for the sound is as lame as it gets… RC40 twin box gets my vote as its proven technology.

Maniflow are also first class and the boss there used to work for Downton, so your in good hands with them.
