Ok. So I bought this little gem in February. My plan was to strip and rebuild but I now realise that is way out of my league. Having had another baby I now know I neither have the spare cash or time to make the best of this little Cooper.
It’s MOT’d until Mar
It’ll be taxed at the end o this month.
It does need a fair bit of work soon to restore to natural beauty; namely bodywork especially rear valance. It has a fibre glass flip front. I have brand new arches and rubber seals ready to on but the paintwork needs sorting first.
Mechanically she is sound. Electric fuel pump, mega jolt system, maniflow LCB through to maniflow exhaust. Sounds mint. It has hi-Los fitted though I’m not sure of the make. All smyths dials interior but some need connecting. Seats are ripped but perfectly usable.
Starts first time every time.
There is some work to do to restore to natural glory and for someone with the know how it’ll be a great project.
Located in stone, Staffordshire.

What is the very lowest you would take? I need to watch the pennys as I’ve started collecting parts for a vaux build mini, but I badly want to be back in a mini
Edit: Plus I’d want to put a proper front on it straight away
Hey there megamini. Thanks for interest. Well I bought it for more than that in Feb and spent £600 on it at present, MOT, new exhaust etc as we are all watching the pennies I wouldn’t want to drop much lower than that but feel free to PM me. Thanks
Hi there andeeehh and wcked.
Thanks for the interest.
I am located in Stone, Staffordshire. About 10 ,ome from J14 and J15 on the M6.
The engine size is 1275cc as per it being a Cooper. But I believe it is not the original engine and has been replaced at some point. When I took it for its MOT they said it was an MPI block.
In term of what needs doing. That depends on how you want the finished product. It definitely needs attention on most of the bodywork even if that means polishing up or rust treatment and respraying in places.
It drives fine, no problems. The arches need putting on. There is a small oil leak which will need sorting at some point.
The dials inside need connecting; the speedo and oil pressure gauge are connected so just the others need sorting. The rear valance will definitely need replacing as it is very rusty.
I’ll try and take some pics of the problem parts and post them ASAP.
